Welcome to Home High Hawaii!
This is my blog for my love of writing and photography. I am the middle child of 5 girls being 17 years old. My older sisters are twins, and my younger sisters are 6 and 4 years old. Our house is always pretty CRAZY and LOUD most of the time. My older sisters have left to college this summer and my younger sisters and I are homeschooled (I do an online schooling with Landry Academy). Homeschooling has it’s highs and lows, like any school, but overall it’s awesome!
We have lived here in Kona for about 9 years. Some people think of living in Hawaii as living on the beach, but that’s not always true. My family has recently moved into Kona town two summers ago. Even though I do not live on the beach, I am lucky to see the shoreline of Kona town from our lanai (porch) everyday and see the sun set each night. Living in Hawaii is a wonderful experience!
During my free time I love to do anything that involves being with friends, taking pictures, sailing, reading, or writing. I also love the outdoors and hiking when I can. When I leave the house I try to always have some sort of camera with me (my film camera, Intova, or my new Cannon) I am the type of person who never wants to miss that “perfect photo.” I must say that I am still trying to learn how to take that “perfect photo!” With the pictures I take I enjoy making videos/slideshows on iMovie and sharing them with friends and family. I would also love to start making photo books for my family. Photography is a wonderful way to revisit memories!
How did we come up with the blog name “Home High Hawaii?” When I decided to start this blog I wanted to use the verse *Job 12:10 although I couldn’t come up with anything that wasn’t taken already. So my mom helped me brain storm and we came up a few ideas, but Home High Hawaii was my favorite. I give all the credit to my mom. “Home” in the name stands for the fact that I am homeschooled. “High” is for highschool, and of course “Hawaii” because I live in Hawaii.
Internet Safety Decisions: If any pictures/videos are posted of other people I will ask for permission before posting. I am doing this for internet safety and because I am a young lady. Yep that’s right! (oops I know young ladies are not suppose to say “yep.” Just teasing mom!) It is also for the safety of my friends and family. Of course…because I care….
I hope you enjoy my blog and have fun looking around! Thank you for visiting Home High Hawaii!
